Golden Eagle Pilot Wheel

Here are a few photos I took at the Missouri History museum located in St. Louis's Forest Park during a break from shopping on December 23, 2004. A pure coincidence, but this happens to be just a few blocks from where John grew up. I'm sure John had his hands on this wheel a lot when it was in the pilot house on the playground of the grade school John attended. I have spoken with someone from the museum who says there are plans to reassemble the wheelhouse sometime and have it on exhibit. At the present time the wheelhouse is disassembled and in storage. 

The Background music is from an old reel to reel tape I made back around 1956 of John Hartford and a friend - possibly Billy Lee, doing some jamming.
