The Dillards

The Andy Griffith Show - The Darlings Are Coming - 1963

Here is a segment of the Andy Griffith Show showing the first appearance of the Dillards. The Dillards came out of the Ozarks about 120 miles southwest of St.Louis. John first met Doug and became close friends during the mid 50's. I have a great memory of John stopping by my house one day to introduce Doug to me. I never got to meet the rest of the Dillards but I have taken a liking to a lot of their music. I guess "Dooley" is high on my list.
