If you have a strong heart and constitution, please follow this link and read this letter from a soldier of the Civil War. I don't believe I have ever seen a more loving and better written love letter.

This clip is from a 1991 Public Broadcast special produced by Ken Burns titled Songs of  the Civil War. It is a follow up to his Civil War documentary. This and his original documentary are fantastic shows. I highly recommend you get your hands on the documentary either via purchase or a library. As far as I know, the video special, "Songs Of The Civil War" is not commercially available. If anyone knows where to obtain a copy, please let me know and I will post it here. A CD containing the songs performed on this special can be purchased at Amazon.com and probably many other retail stores. I have followed this wonderful journey embodying this music to another location that I'm sure you will be interested in. Please take a look at this site featuring Jay Unger and Molly Mason. I can see some more CD's that are going on my must purchase some day list. You can actually listen to a complete live performance on line and see some great video clips. If you really want to have some fun, watch the video of "Homegrown Tomatoes" , the second clip down when you follow the Jay Unger and Molly Mason link above. The only way I could get it to play though was selecting the Real Player version.
