Here's another glimpse of two historical people in the field of Old-Time music. The setting was Virginia where these they grew up. I believe this was a reunion around 1970. Sara and Maybelle had gone their separate ways for over 25 years prior to this reunion. Maybelle was much a part of the Opry in the 50s when I use to attend. You can see one of the Photos I took of her on the Opry stage in another section of this site. When I got a Gibson guitar for Christmas back in 1952, the first song that I learned to play was Wildwood Flower. I tried to emulate Mother Maybelle. If you look closely, I think you will see that Martha Scanlan of RTT has purchased the same kind of guitar the Maybelle is playing in this video, which I'm sure is one she had from the early beginnings in the late 20s.
