John Hotze & Mike Borrello -
just a couple old farts with a great passion for music as we cover an old John
Hartford tune
There are a few of John's
CD's, that the words "Mellow John", come to my head.
I guess I'm just a
sentimental old fart but this CD is one of my favorites of John's.
Dixe is from "Goin Back To
Dixie" - Small Dog SD-292 - 1992
Mike & loaded my 17' shallow
water keel Grumman canoe on my car and headed for Nashville three years ago this
June. I put big lettering on the side of the canoe - "Slumberin' On The
Cumberland". You might catch a glimpse of us in the YouTube video I embedded
further down on this page. We floated
the Cumberland River from Neely's Bend to a takeout, just across the river from
John's old house. This was to celebrate John's life on the fifth anniversary of
his passing.
I set the tripod up to shoot
us just foolin' around
together on Phil Harris's front porch before the bands started showing up. The audio on this is
something Mike and I had
recorded a long time ago as an Internet project. I assembled it working with
files we exchanged over the Internet. We never had even met one on one when we
did this project. I think Mike did the first track and
I did the best I could to listen and overlay my part with his. Not the best but
I was just learning this stuff back than.
Don't forget, if you left double

I haven't tested it with other browsers.
