Tom T. Hall sings as storm is coming
Tom T. Hall is one of my heroes and I managed to miss both appearances he made on the stage at Bean Blossom. I was lucky enough to have gotten this one clip. I left the camera on while I scrambled back to my tent to baton down the hatches as a bad storm was reported to be on the way. It hadn't been announced, but Jeff Mankin received the word from the photo guy who had a booth just to the side of the seating area.
Luckily I arrived back at my seat to grab the camera as it was about to pour down. You will see lightning and people starting to scramble away from the stage area. This was all going on while the camera sat on my tripod, unattended in front of my seat in the audience area. Tom T. Hall unexpectedly just walks off right after he was starting his second song. I believe some lightning may have downed the sound system.
You'll also see Mr. Cherryholmes come out and pick up his bass. Shortly after that I grabbed the camera to put it away. I just made it back to my campsite and decided to sit in my car to wait out the initial thrust of the storm. It was predicted that there may be up to forty mile and hour winds & I wasn't sure the tent would be a safe place to be.
