I just heard from Paonia Bill, aka Bill Powers of SSS and found out they have a new album coming out June 1, 2007. With Bill's blessing, I grabbed this song from their MySpace home. I'm Satisfied is off this new CD coming out.

Bill Powers - Mandolin & Banjo,  Rob Miller - Guitar,  Cory Obert - Fiddle & Shelley Gray - Bass

I took this photo last May in Paonia, Colorado - John Hotze

Sweet Sunny South is an acoustic old-time bluegrass band that plays mostly original music. Based in Paonia, Colorado, the group performs extensively throughout Colorado and has gained a reputation for a lively and entertaining stage show, as well as some fine songwriting. At their shows youll find them weaving in and out around a single microphone and dressed to a T, reminiscent of a bygone era. They escort the listeners down a windy path of historical journeys, beautiful ballads and rollicking fiddle tunes complete with a healthy dose of humor that keeps folks smiling.

I doubt you'll be surprised to find out that these folks are good friends with The Wilders, The Hunger Mountain Boys, Chatham County Line, and Truckstop Honeymoon, to name a few. Bill actually introduced me to The Hunger Mountain Boys and Truckstop Honeymoon last year when I was out in Paonia visiting with them. Come to think of it,  these five groups would make one hell of a festival?

If you're ever passin' through Paonia, you gotta, look em' up. You're likely to find them hangin' out at the public radio station on main street in the heart of town. That's were a couple of them do some DeeJayin' when they aren't out gigin' and I don't mean bull frogs.
