The hardest working band ever to rise up from Kalamazoo County, Michigan, Greensky Bluegrass (GSBG) is taking Michigan's blend of acoustic roots music on the road to a venue near you. Performing at festivals, theaters, bars, and listening rooms all over the US, their rare traditional sound has quickly spread to a national audience. Their compositions offer a unique perspective on tradition and insight into their own experiences. Over six years of live performance, the 2004 release of Less Than Supper, and the 2006 release of their latest album Tuesday Letter (produced by Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth), have established GSBG as one of the premier independent quartets in the bluegrass community.

In June of 2006 Greensky Bluegrass won First Place at the 33rd Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Contest! Having been featured at Smilefest XII two weeks earlier, the band traveled west to Colorado where they proceeded to take the Telluride competition by storm as a last minute addition. Working on 3 hours sleep, GSBG wowed the judges on day one, and were the ultimate victors in the final competition the next day. The win earned them a spot on the main stage at this year's Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Things are clearly on the rise for the boys from Kalamazoo!
