Jesse Cleamer - Listen To That Country Music
This is an unpublished song written by Jesse Cleamer - 1999
This song was written for me by a friend of mine back about 1999. Jesse worked in the shipping department of Lutheran Hour Ministries where I still am employed. Back than I was a smoker and would be out around the loading dock with some frequency and Jesse & I would talk sometimes about country music. I talked about everything he wrote in this song. We had some good times talkin' about the Opry stars of the past. I can relate to the feelings John had when he wrote the song "They're Gonna' Tear Down The Grand Ole Opry". .Anyway, Jesse's song tells of my feelings about how we've lost an old friend -"The old time sounds of the Grand Ole Opry" and about bringing it back. John touched on this subject in his recordings - "Nobody Eats at Linebaugh's Anymore" and "They're Gonna' Tear Down The Grand Ole Opry". I had developed a plan for an Opry revival that I was going to share with John to see if he would be interested in helping me with it. John became quite ill and I never got to discuss the plan with him. I think I might still have it saved in some of my old documents on my computer. Maybe someday, I will look it over again and see if it still makes sense. Anyway I thought you would enjoy a refreshing unpublished work of an old friend mine. It would be nice if some artist out there likes the song and can relate to the story, would record it.
