Live recordings of the Grand Ole Opry from the 1950's
I have provided a couple ways to listen to these recordings. I have provided individual webpages that will have a photo and with some commentary about the artist and recording. If you wait a few seconds the recording will automatically start to play if you are browsing with Internet Explorer. If you are on an Apple or you are running another browser such as FireFox, I have given you the option to play the song in an external mp3 player or you can download it. I have also given you the option to choose to o play the songs without going to the artists page with info and photo by choosing "stream or download" right on the menu below. One way I recommend that you handle your listening is to choose the normal artists window than start the streaming mode only reduce the mp3 player so that you can look at and read about the artist as you listen to the music. I have many more Pet Milk Shows that I haven't posted any samples of. Also, if requested, I would gladly setup some Pet Milk shows so you could listen to the whole show. I haven't had any request to do with my old Grand Ole Opry material so I haven't worked much on improving or adding to this area of my website.
I'm going to throw one ringer in here that really doesn't seem to fit anywhere else right now. This is a song that was written for me by an old friend I use to work with at Lutheran Hour Ministries and it conveyed a strong feeling I had concerning the Grand Ole Opry. It is performed by the writer my old friend, Jesse Cleamer. He played the guitar and used a bandbox to add some rhythm. This was recorded about 1998. I don't think he officially named it, but I call it:
The following files are excerpts from various Pet Milk Shows that I will make available for downloading here and other locations as well. They will be put in the download area as flac files. The downloads will contain the whole show, including advertising.. There are some gracious volunteers working on tracking these shows and adding set lists. I will keep you posted as soon as they become available. Below is just a sampling of some files from these shows. I thought I would make them available right away so that you can hear what is coming soon.

Here is some great live old time Grand Ole Opry that I recorded in my home on St.George Place in Webster Groves, Missouri during 1955. My folks picked up an old floor model Zenith radio I had in my bedroom. I figured a way to tap into the audio portion of the radio and fed it into the mic in on an old Wolinsak reel to reel tape recorder. I have a whole lot more that I will make available for downloading in flac format in the near future.
