Festivals & Shows - 2006

Who is going to be where?

This section is meant for our community of music lovers to possibly make connections with each other during some music event. Believe it or not, I'm not much for crowds but I do enjoy sharing my love for music with other people and I think in this case, the more the merrier.

Attending festival is another great way we can support the musicians who perform the music we love. I want to encourage you to try and make it out to one of these are any others that you might find.  There's a good chance that you may also find some products at these festivals that you won't see on the Internet or in the stores.. It also gives you a great chance to chat with the performers in a laid back environment. Any doubt about what I'm saying, ask Jeff Mankin, I think he drops at least $100 or more buying CD's and shirts at Bean Blossom festivals each year.

I haven't even mentioned the great opportunity to participate in jams either as a performer or a listener. This is also a great place where you may run into some performers you watched on the stage. You'll find a few jammers in this collage my friend Borrello made for me along with a few shots that were taken at Bean Blossom. Perhaps I can get Mike to make up a collage of shots from Bean Blossom for this page.

I thought it might be nice to put a satellite photo of Beanblossom up to show everyone where I'll be in June & September. You enter the campground down in the lower left hand corner and proceed Northeast. The main stage is about dead center in this photo. If you wind down past the stage and the North end of the pond you will head south and up the hill to what is called Hippy Hill. You can just barely make out something a little brown just as you head East. That is where the Workshop Stage is located.

After you continue on past that stage you will reach a fork in the road that goes to the left and follows alongside the forest & some cabins on the left. The large field to the right is where I have always camped. This year I was told, after requesting a shady place, that she found a location near the north end of that field where there were a couple trees. That is where my campsite is - "The Harford Memorial Jam Camp". I think I can see the trees she is talking about. Just across the road is a path you can walk down and cut through the trees, where you will come up right by the main stage. I can't say enough for the festivals I have seen here. The camping facilities are also excellent.. There are enough clean hot showers, flush toilets to accommodate everyone nicely.
